Mali Ston
MALI STON
Small village with a port in the Gulf Maloston (Malostonski zaljev), near the town of Ston (approx. 1.5 km).
It lies on the coast and at the foot of the hill Bartolomija. In a sheltered bay can moor small yachts. In shallow bays and coves near Bistrina is one of the largest kennels oysters and mussels on the east coast of the Adriatic, and local restaurants and taverns you can taste virtually anytime they totally fresh seafood. Mali Ston dates from the 14th century and was built as part of the Dubrovnik Republic massive fortifications of the town of Ston, which was a border town in the north of the Republic. It consisted originally of three blocks of houses in the streets. The dominant system consisted of walls and fortresses.
The symbol of Mali Ston is the main strength Koruna with 5 towers, walls connected with the whole fortification system of Ston.
Swimming and beautiful beaches of fine sand and pebbles found in the bay Prapratna on the southeast coast of Peljesac peninsula, ca 4 km from Mali Ston.
