ČIŽIČI – KLIMNO – SOLINE
Čižiči:
The village of Čižiči on the island Krk is located on the coast of the Soline Bay (sometimes referred to as Klimno Bay).
The town of Čižiči is surrounded by the sea on one side and a Mediterranean forest on the other side. The village of Čižiči is close to the bathing resort of Meline which is famous for the healing properties of its mud. Those, who have rheumatic problems come to Čižiči for healing.
Bišerujka cave is located three kilometers from Čižiči. According to legend, a smuggler’s treasure was buried in the Bišerujka cave.
Čižiči is known for the traditional architecture and narrow streets surrounded by stone walls called gromače. Historically, the houses in Čižiči had one or more rooms with gable roof filled with semi circle tiles and stone staircases with a vaulted terrace.
The view in Čižiči includes olive groves, the bay and amazing variety of plants. Accommodations in the village include many private apartments, bed and breakfasts and inns. The town has a mini-market, some bistros and a hairdresser.
Čižiči is the ideal location for those who want a vacation filled with rest, seclusion and perhaps romance.
Klimno:
The historic city of Klimno offers breathtaking views of its harbor. If approaching Klimno via boat, you’ll see the city set against a backdrop of a stunning mountain range that seems to reach for the waters below. Despite its small size, Klimno has been an important element in the ship-building industry since the mid-19th century. Said importance is evident to this very day, by the fact that Klimno is home to not one but three shipyards. Due to the city’s relative small size, the shipping industry is one of the major local employers within the city.
Klimno is also home to a small church, dedicated to St. Clement, the Bishop, after whom it is named. Offering sail boats as well as speed boats for hire, Klimno offers many recreational opportunities in addition to swimming, diving or fishing in the crystal clear waters that surround it.
Recreation is not limited to water activities though. Be sure to take a leisurely stroll along quiet city streets or the peaceful countryside that surrounds the historic city and don’t forget to sample the local cuisine, offered in several restaurants.
Soline:
If you are looking for a place to get away, but are tired of the usual tourist haunts, then you have got come visit Soline on the island of Krk!
This amazing secluded getaway has long been a favorite of the local Croatian people. You owe it to yourself to discover the peace and solitude of Soline Bay. Located in Croatia between Klimno and Meline on the Northeast Coast, Soline Bay is a perfect oasis with warm water for 6 months out of the year.
The Bay is a great place for Scuba diving or just a quiet walk along the beach. Locals also claim that the mud in the bay has many health benefits. Private apartments and guest houses are prevalent around Soline bay, so you are sure to find the right place to relax and unwind.
