Kukljica
KUKLJICA
Located at the narrowest part of the island of Ugljan, Kukljica has access to two coasts – in the north and south.
In addition, the proximity of the Ždrelac pass that leads to the Kornati National Park and Nature Park Telašćica makes it attractive to sailors.
The naturally protected harbour and modern marinas provide excellent opportunities for mooring, and the rugged coastline, crystal clear sea, numerous pebbly and rocky beaches are ideal for families with children and for teenagers and all those who want peace under the shade of hundred year old pines.
The authentic Dalmatian architecture is very visible in Kukljica, where the rows of stone houses take the form of a square, forming a small square - castle.
On the tip of Zaglav, away from the old village centre is the tourist settlement Zelena punta offering all kinds of sports and recreational facilities.
Two churches make up the cultural treasure of the village, and the best known tourist event is held every year on the 5th of August, when a procession accompanied by several hundred boats carries the statue of Our Lady of the Snow.
