VRBNIK
Vrbnik - Perched approximately 30 miles above the Adriatic Sea, the city of Vrbnik holds a lot of medieval charm and mixes it with a Mediterranean flair.
With centuries-old houses on tight, winding streets, as well as a church and a castle built in the middle ages that are still standing strong today, Vrbnik holds a romantic charm that defies time.
The church, as well as the city’s library care for and display some of the rarest historic documents in the entire country. Surrounded by crystal clear waters, this quaint little city is also becoming a popular dive destination for divers the world over.
Vrbnik is known in all of Croatia for its award-winning wines, which are not only on the menu of the many taverns and restaurants within the city, they’re also housed on site as most establishments have and maintain their own wine cellars. The city’s pride in and dedication to producing the award-winning wine “Vrbnicka Zlahtina” is evident by the many vineyards that surround the outer perimeter of the city. Surrounded by pine trees, Vrbnik not only offers recreational activities in or on the crystal waters of the Adriatic Sea but also has many beautiful hiking trails that offer breathtaking views of the waters below or of the historic town they surround.
