ŽIVOGOŠÆE
With three coastal towns and villages - Porat, Mala Duba and Blato and a number of older hamlets under Biokovo, Živogošæe makes the Makarska Riviera all the more beautiful. Traces of the Illyrians and Romans have been preserved at the top of Suzine hill (Illyrian tombs) and in the remains of a rustic villa.
The most beautiful example of classical literature (16 Latin hexameters), where the Roman quaestor Lucian celebrated a source of fresh water, which is still flowing, is carved into the rock above the source at Pokrivenice on the coast.
Olive groves, pine forests, sea and 6 km of connected pebble beaches provide the conditions for the proper enjoyment of the Croatian Mediterranean!
