ROGOZNICA
The Rogoznica peninsula is situated on the far southeastern part of the county of Šibenik and Knin.
The well-indented bay of Rogoznica is completely protected by the Ražanj peninsula and the island of Smokvica from the eastern, southern and southwestern side, while its western shore is exposed to the influence of open sea.
Safe anchorage made Rogoznica especially important even for the ancient seamen and passengers on the Adriatic coast. You just have to see the Rogoznica port full of fishing boats, trawlers and yachts while strong south wind and northeastern wind blow.
The Rogoznica peninsula has special climatic characteristics distinguishing it very much from the Šibenik littoral to which it belongs. Here is the boundary between the mild and warm climate of the southeast and harsh and severe climate of the north and northwest. Due to relatively short periods of cloud the climate is pretty dry and the level of insulation is high, which favours tourism.
The parish church and church tower overlook the town. On the Gradina peninsula is situated the Zmajevo oko lake, which is a lake with seawater. This lake is considered to be a natural bioreactor in which biochemical processes take place. Right next to this phenomenon, in the cove of Soline a port for nautical tourism was built.
It is a first-class port with numerous programs for tourists and 400 berths.
