About destination Nerezine (Mali Lošinj)[hide][show]
NEREZINE
The town is famous for its lush vegetation and beautiful, unpolluted sea.
From the hill Osorscica above Nerezine a view is offered on Losinj, the sea and the surrounding islands: Cres, Susak, Srakane, Unije; a nice path leads to the top.
On the St. Anna's Day the local population cherishes the tradition of climbing to the top of Osorscica where a mass is held in the St. Nicholas' Chapel.
Tourist resort Bucanje, situated between the coves Galboka and Studenac, almost connects Nerezine with Sveti Jakov (St. James).
Nerezine is a town and port on the north-eastern coast of the island of Losinj, 5 km south of the Straits of Osor, at the foot of the hill Osorscica (Televrina, 589 m).
The historic records mentioned the town for the first time in the 15th century. The port is well constructed and protected by two breakwaters. Accessible only for small vessels. Chief occupations are farming, viniculture, fishing, seafaring and tourism. Situated on the regional road passing through the islands of Cres and Losinj.
