Sućuraj
SUĆURAJ
This picturesque little fishing and tourist village on the eastern tip of the island of Hvar boasts beautiful beaches, narrow Dalmatian streets and lush Mediterranean vegetation. The rich history of the region is visible in the old Augustan (now Franciscan) monastery, the Baroque church and a partially preserved old Venetian fortress ('fortica') from 1613. The small ferry port near the centre of the village connects it to the Makarska Riviera (Drvenik Sućuraj).
Sućuraj is an ideal place for those who want to enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings, clean water and peace away from the stress and crowds.
