KALI
The fishing and tourist locality of Kali , the biggest locality on the islands of Zadar, is situated on the island of Ugljan, in the proximity of Zadar.
It was first mentioned in 1299, but it is much older.
Life continuity has been followed here since prehistory and through antiquity and the middle ages up to today. It is situated between two ports on the northeast and up to the lovely cove of Lamjana on southwest, adorned with many lovely and modern buildings.
This genuine Croatian locality recognizable by all that is Mediterranean, from the sea, fish, boats, and nets to lovely bays and coves.
Kali is also recognizable for its speech which is full of diphthongs and ancient Granolithic, working on the fields, olive growing, and fishing, life on the sea and with the sea; with people full of temperament that delights many friends.
The old nucleus with its narrow streets and stone houses in the Dalmatian style is situated on a hill that offers a wonderful view of the surroundings and all is towered by a bell tower of the Baroque church of St. Lawrence, the patron of Kali.
